It’s important that the funds are there for the members when benefits are to be paid.

• The trustees are responsible for managing the Fund
• Members are involved at the highest level of the management of the Scheme - sitting on the Management Committee of the Trustee
• The Fund must answer to ‘regulators’ appointed by the Government with the power to ensure schemes are correctly managed
• The legal and regulatory framework for protection of the interests of members of company pension funds has been strengthened in recent years.
