Benefits on Death
If you die before Normal Pension Age, the following benefits will be payable:
A pension equal to one half of your pension earned in the Standard Section taking into account any increases between the date you left the Standard Section and death. This is payable for life and subject to the same annual pension increase as your pension
A pension value for a partner from a Civil Partnership or same sex marriage is available from the Pensions Office.
Where applicable, childrens' allowances are also payable.
If you also made pension contributions to the Scheme's Defined Contribution Section, your beneficiaries will receive the value of your Member Account as a lump sum. See Excess contributions and Top Up Contributions.
