Although we have specialists working on the Scheme's investments, and the Committees takes regular advice from recognised experts in this field, the Trustee still has a responsibility to regularly assess performance.
To make sure performance is measured accurately, the Trustee does two things:
- It agrees a Statement of Investment Principles which lays down the basis for investment decisions.
- The investment performance of the Fund is compared to a Scheme specific benchmark. The Investment Committee also monitors investment performance quarterly, and reviews performance annually based on the reports of the independant external performance measurers, WM and HSBC.
